There are many questions and misconceptions surrounding hypnotherapy and hypnosis. Discover answers to common queries and learn more about what you will experience in your session.
Our mind can be divided into two mental states; conscious and the subconscious. The conscious mind deals with rational thinking and observation that we are aware of while the subconscious stores our life’s experiences, emotions and our core beliefs and habits that have evolved out of those experiences.
Through hypnotherapy we suppress the influences of the conscious mind and alter the state in which our subconscious shows hesitancy to a certain situation. The reason that hypnosis works is that all physical or mental behaviours can be traced back to nerve transmission in the brain. These nerve pathways can be altered by suggestion when the brain is in an alpha or theta brain wave state that lies on the borderline between waking and sleeping. The healing patterns created during hypnotherapy are established by achieving these states. The reason treated individuals do not revert to their old ways after this therapy is that it functions independent of will power.
